MINUTES CITY OF BUNKER HILL VILLAGE SPECIAL MEETING May 3, 2007 Mayor Marshall called the special meeting of the City Council of the City of Bunker Hill Village to order at 8:03 a.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall located at 11977 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER Present: Also in attendance: Mayor Bill Marshall Ruthie P. Sager, City Administrator Councilman Dave Ellis Steve Smith, Director of Public Works Councilmember Susan Schwartz Yolanda C. Benitez, City Secretary Mayor Pro Tem Derry Essary Tom Ramsey, Klotz Associates, Inc. Councilmember Michelle Belco Bill Abbott, Klotz Associates, Inc.
II. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT WITH CALCO CONTRACTING, ltd. BY $388,359.49 FOR REPAIRS TO THE PAVEMENT AND DRAINAGE AT THE MEMORIAL/GESSNER INTERSECTION. Mayor Marshall stated that the amount of the Change Order is now $421,903.99; however, the project total is $480,653.99. Tom Ramsey explained what was included in Change Order No. 2, such as replacing concrete, improving the turning lanes and the drainage, as well as repairing a 24” pipe which has been damaged. Bill Abbott of Klotz Associates further explained the project. Tom Ramsey reported on the damage to the 24” inch pipe, which was caused by the City of Houston. He further noted that we will need to make a request for reimbursement from City of Houston for the damages. motion was made by Councilman Ellis and seconded by Councilman Essary to approve Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $421,903.99. Motion carried 4 to 0. Tom Ramsey reported that the project will start as soon as school is out, and a specific schedule will be presented at the next council meeting. The project will be done from sometime in late May to mid-August. Steve Smith noted that a third change order will be presented concerning types of inlets, etc. III. ADJOURNMENTMotion was made by Councilmember Belco and seconded by Councilman Essary to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 4 to 0 and the meeting was adjourned at 8:18 a.m. Approved and accepted on May 15, 2007.
